Our Team

What kind of people are we?

IntelliCo Solutions specializes in an area, which places a high demand on the skills and character qualities of our employees. That's why we are extremely demanding when recruiting, and rather generous when compensation and retainer plans are on the table.

Our employees have to have a completed MBA, preferably from a world class institution, with several years work experience in a management-related field. From among MBA topics, we value very highly finance, accounting, financial analysis and modelling, organization and business processes, human resources - in short, the more administrative portion of the spectrum.

Then, our employees have to have a passion for IT, specifically on the big-picture, architectural, business-process-to-IT-landscape-mapping side. We are less demanding on the deeply technical IT topics, e.g. you don't need to be a Java programmer, a DBA or a SAP specialist, but some level of understanding of how all of these work will be essential to survive on the job.

Third, our employees must have some level of project management experience. We are not looking specifically for PRINCE 2 Practitioner or PMP certifications - we will get you these if you don't have them yet - but rather for the real-world experience with managing, delivering - and failing - projects, without which you will not be able to understand the theory anyway.

Personality-wise, we are looking for people with the preference for doing work without rules and guidelines, applying different approaches / concepts as fits the job, and focusing on results rather than excuses. Consultants are often required to establish the rules, rather than follow them. We are providing strong administrative back-up, as we know that such people can not be expected to like admin work, or prioritize it too high.

We are looking for people who are self-standing, and somewhat prefer to work alone, rather than in big teams. You will often have to do one-man jobs, even if this involves frequent coordination with customer staff. This also means that we invest conscious effort in team collaboration, as it is not likely to come naturally with the people we hire.

Our staff have exceptionally strong attitude towards problem-solving, even going to the level of some dislike for routine, repetitive jobs. This comes natural, as consultants are rarely allocated on repetitive jobs. That means, we also encourage our staff to reuse past work, rather than reinventing the wheel, as it doesn't always come natural to them.

A very, very strong tendency to take decisions quickly and enforce a quick pace is absolutely required for the job. Slow, deliberate people are not likely to "cut it" as consultants, as they will probably be perceived by the customer as not delivering enough value. This means also that good coaching, good knowledge support network, and strong "rules of thumb" are key for us, as we need to deliver good advice to our customers under extreme time pressure.

Propensity for idea generation is a very important flair for a consultant. The ability to think "out of the box", see routine problems in a new way, and turn challenges into opportunities is vital for a consultant. Of course, that means that we remind our people to always take lessons learned on board, and reuse available knowledge, as it doesn't always come so natural.

Ability to think comprehensively, to see a situation from all angles, to take vast amounts of information, process it all, and come up with simple and brilliant summaries and conclusions, is absolutely vital. You will be spending a lot of time gathering and consolidating hundreds of data points, and you absolutely must be able to take a step back, and see the forest, rather than the trees.

Determination to face into your shortcomings, to overcome them, and to become a better professional is very key for us. You absolutely have to be able to take strong and direct feedback face-to-face, learn from it, and improve for the next time. Our customers don't have it all together, we don't have it all together, so we don't see how you can have it all together. We have all learned a lot from seeing our past as it is, with all successes and failures, and we expect the same from you.
